Norway Linocut "61.16859°N,4.98069°E"

Part of a series of linocuts born from a journey through Norway, this original print by Sarah Delanchy unfolds like a frame from an engraved road movie. Its title is drawn from the GPS coordinates of the place that inspired it, an open invitation to travel and explore, and a quiet reminder that every image begins with a real landscape.

Each print is hand-pulled using the reduction technique, also known as the lost plate method. The block is carved further with every pass, layer by layer, from the lightest tone to the darkest, with six layers of ink superimposed here. The process is irreversible: once the final layer is cut, the material is gone and no further copies can ever be printed. It is a work of several months, completed in six stages with one to two weeks of drying between each layer.

Because every impression is inked and printed by hand, each copy carries its own nuances, and no two sunsets are quite alike. These small variations are part of the charm of linocut and make every print a singular piece. The edition is limited to just nine copies, each signed and numbered by hand.

The linocut measures 40 cm wide by 50 cm high and is printed on Fabriano Rosaspina, a matte 60% cotton paper of 220 g/m² with a silky touch. It is sold unframed, leaving you free to choose the setting that suits your wall. Colours seen on screen may differ slightly from those on paper.
