Based in Rotterdam, designer Iris Lucia Megens is fundamentally a maker, exploring the essence of materials in her creative process. With a Bachelor’s in Product Design from ArtEZ Arnhem University of the Arts and a Master’s in Design from the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, Iris combines craftsmanship with innovation.
Her objects are drawn in 3D using lines of bio-resin, creating everyday items like vases and teapots through a futuristic craft. Each piece is sketched directly into space, making it both unique and functional. This process challenges the boundaries of form and raises essential questions about material usage and minimal living.
