# Commune

Commune is a Los Angeles design house whose shop gathers interior objects, furniture and furnishings with a strong sense of the hand. Its selection moves easily between categories, from art, lighting and furniture to ceramics, brass, wood, bedding and pantry goods, held together by a taste for pieces that are hand-crafted, artist-made and artisanal.

Textiles are a quiet centrepiece of the collection. Commune presents vintage Japanese Zanshi Ori throw pillows and Shobu Gakuen Sakiori bolster and lumbar pillows, both rooted in Japanese weaving traditions. These sit alongside collaborations made for the house, including pillows by Christine Nielson for Commune and Dosa for Commune burlap indigo pillows, as well as Gregory Parkinson's Assamese blanket pillows in saturated, layered colourways.

Beyond textiles, Commune's world extends to tabletop pieces, rugs, blankets, kitchenware, books, bookends, lamps and tables, with ceramics from makers such as Heath Ceramics. Smaller rituals have their place too, with Commune's own sandalwood incense and tea completing an approach to the home that is warm, considered and made to be lived with.
